Despite the wet conditions CMI Busselton Premier League side and Dunsborough fought out a riveting 2-all draw on Sunday.
Midway through the first half a Busselton City defensive lapse was capitalised upon by Tim Pigeon to give Dunsborough an early lead.
But for the remainder of the half Busselton City dominated the midfield and it was no surprise when Luca Gargiulio got his team back on even terms when he scored from close range after some desperate Dunsborough defending.
Gargiulio then added a second with a quality free kick from 20 metres which completely deceived the opposition goalkeeper. Early in the second half Dunsborough’s Ethan Delatte outpaced the locals defence to grab his side’s second goal.
The last 30 minutes was a real attacking encounter as both teams sought the win and the three points. For Busselton City defender Mitchell Monck returned yet another strong game whilst strikers Gargiulio and Rob Seia battled hard all afternoon.
