A quick-fire hat trick from striker Martin Ryan was just one of the highlights of CMI Busselton City’s 6-1 South West Cup thumping of Australind on Sunday. A former Golden Boot winner, Ryan scored his goals in a 20 minute period after entering the game midway through the second half.
Busselton were in control of proceedings almost from the kick- off with central midfielders Jacob Black and Danny Kane stretching Australind at every opportunity. Alan Dowling grabbed the first goal after 12 minutes before Mike Newell hit the target when he cleverly curled the ball into the top corner from some 35 metres.
Michael Seia then added a third from close range to complete a quality 45 minutes of soccer by Busselton City. The locals continued to hold the ascendancy throughout the second half and could have easily added to the score line with greater equanimity in front of goals.
